I just spoke to the CTO at Usenetserver to get a first hand status of their network. He acknowledged that they had software problems that were causing groups to disappear and they are 80% done with the software updates on their servers to fix this problem. The servers that have not been updated yet have been removed from the load balancer. Text and picture groups should be ok now but it will take the rest of the week for the multimedia groups to fully recover. They have on going plans to continue to beef up their network including installing an additional load balancer. Hopefully this is the light at the end of the tunnel for UNS and we can get back to enjoying all-you-can-eat at their historically high speeds.
