Quade wrote:The crashing is happening outside of Newsbin proper. It's not really something I can trouble shoot because it's not happening in any code I control. I'm going to try to see what loads up that DLL into Newsbin. It's not something I manually load or link to. Some other component is pulling it in.
Edit: Maybe recheck that the disable stuff is still in the NBI. I notice when I disable taskbar integration, that DLL is no longer loaded into Newsbin.

My only suggestion to the 'why' is that perhaps you had NBP open whilst editing or the process was otherwise still locked when editing? That's the only reason I can think of. I upgraded and added my entry without issue. The app has been stable ever since.

See if this one still does it.

I regret to report that this version of NewsBin Pro won't run for me.
I'm not sure if RC4_Test was for me to test,

Other people are using it without issue so I know it can work,
How much do you have in the download, wish and failed lists?
To stall on startup suggests it's doing some process that's stalling the UI. Some people have massive download or wish lists. I don't test with 1000's of files in the download list. That's why I always ask how much is in the download list.
You could try from the options:
1 - In settings select "Open Data Folder"
2 - Exit Newsbin
3 - From the newly opened window move "downloadsv2.*" files out of the data folder to a some other folder, it might be multiple files with that name, then try starting Newsbin again.
4 - You can always move it back after you exit Newsbin again over-writing the newly created "DownloadsV2" files.
Then see if it still stalls. Loading the download list is about the first thing it does. It also probes the download drive to see if the files in the files list still exist on disk, If the disk is slow or spun down, they might take awhile.
