Question Regarding Downloading Files Tab

I'm trying to make sure I understand how Newsbin works and if I have everything set up correctly.

In the Downloading Files pane, on the Downloading Files tab i see the parent .NZB under that the records for a bunch of .par2 files. Everything shows as fully downloaded.

On the Files List tab I see the same .par2 files listed as well as many .rar files.

On my computer, where I extract the NZB files to, I see the same files. Usually I see the final file(s) related to the NZB I downloaded. Why are these still showing the .par files and all of the .rar files? Isn't there something else that Newsbin is supposed to do to finish the process?

So no one here knows how Newsbin works and why it's not doing anything with the individual rars from the NZB?

Is there somewhere else that I'm supposed to be going for licensed tech support?

#1 - this forum is pretty much abandoned. (I am having newsleecher flashbacks)

Newsbinpro worked last time I used it. For .nzb there is better maintained software out there.
And the most surprising info: as long as nzb format has been around, even according to the best developers of nzb downloaders, the nzbs are now somehow being distributed as invalid formatted nzbs.

Also, you did not list what version, as sometimes betas work better than the last version noted on the NewsBinPro main website.
They also restrict the number of links here on the forum, so I can't link to the betas. Look here in the forum for the Beta section.

This may also belong more in either the V6 Technical Support or Newsbin Version 6 Beta Support, depending on if you are using last version 6.90 from 2022 or the betas.

I didn't realize this was a mostly abandoned forum. I never expect an answer in minutes, but once it reaches days and almost 100 people have looked at the topic I start to wonder. Once I got somewhat used to Newsbin I liked it (when it went smoothly).

I can always manually extract all of the rars if I have to. Do you have anything you would recommend as an alternative to Newsbin? I don't really want to got to support because I'm not sure of the current status of the developers. I'm running version 6.80, but I don't see an option to check for updates.

There is only one developer, and they did log into the forum as late as Oct 29, 2025. (user Quade is the developer)

But it just may be my impression, but the forum just looks abandoned lately, and several times would not even load.
The over 100 views are by bots, like Google [Bot], Baidu [Spider], Bing [Bot], etc., still visiting the forum for their search engines.
Version 6.80 is OLD (2018). At least get 6.90 which is on the main newsbin website. Even at that, 6.90 is back from 2022.
As far as I remember there never was a check for updates option, I always went to the main page on the newsbin website first then if nothing new check the forum as the newer betas don't make it to the main website anymore.
It's now been in beta since 2022, and you would need to look for the forum section 'Newsbin Version 6 Beta Support' for later betas.
Support is still there at the contact section of the main website, for newsbin. Support needs to be there for those who pay for the search feature of newsbin.
Sorry for the misstatement about waiting minutes, that was my error.
Like I said, even with newer updates, there are issues with newer nzbs are being distributed as invalid formatted. And that can only be fixed by informing those knuckleheads uploading them either not to upload them or fix them.
That's about all I know, I even had some that are invalid formatted, but that may not even be your issue.

Thanks, Stan. I appreciate your input and knowledge on this software and this forum. I'll look into the newer version. For the current issue I had, I ended up just manually extracting the files and deleting the original par and rar files. The end result was the same; I just had to do it manually.
