Pretty much all files are yEnc encoded and have been for at least 5 years now. I suspect whatever problem you're having, it has nothing to do with whether it's yEnc encoded or not. If the files are turning red and the logging tab shows "430" errors, it means the files have been removed from the news server already.

You're downloading encrypted files but you don't have the password. If you're using 6.81, you can select the file then Ctrl-R to read the status. It should tell you if the file is encrypted or not. So, this has nothing to do with yenc as I suspected.
