Addressing two minor issues from the 6.80 release that impact very few people.

  • Improved handling if you run out of disk space while downloading.
  • Fixed issue where items in download list would sometimes get stuck.

We were able to recreate the second issue, the fix is in here but still have one report that it is not fixed. We need to hear from more people running it to confirm that it's fixed.

The full change history and the download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

If you find any issues, please reply to this thread or use our Technical Support Contact Form.

I reported several problems with $(RAWSUBJECT) in the thread "Version 6.80 Final Available...", posted: Tue May 15, 2018.
Got no answer, so maybe no one saw it ;)

From the change list of the 6.80 Final:
Change rawsubject mode to trim any whitespace and dashes from the end.

At least the " - " string is still there at the end of the folder names.

The fix didn't seem to work for me. I am often getting file sets stuck in the DL list.
For example, I was running 6.80RC5 and had a file sets stuck which showed that the files had been downloaded (and I confirmed this).
I moved the set to wish list and back, but it didn't work.

I next upgraded to 6.81B1. This file set is still stuck. I moved it to the wish list and back. Still stuck.
Restarted Newsbin; Still stuck

Note: When I restart or move the file set to the wish list and back; I see the progress bar rapidly go from 0-100% (but nothing is downloaded again since the files already exists).

Have you looked in the logging tab?

What you're reporting isn't what was fixed. What was fixed is that if you added > 20 files at a time to the download list, the download wouldn't start. What you're reporting is after download, it's not unraring.

I have unchecked "Automatically UnRAR Complete Files".
It is only a few random sets that are stuck after downloading. I always have to go in to manually confirm that the files were downloaded, and then manually delete the stuck file sets in the download list. I can't figure out why this keep happening. I was happy when I though it was finally fixed :? .

The log doesn't tell much:
I get entries like this:
Code: Select all
[06/03 13:38:56]  ALWAYS v_news.newshosting.com ARTICLE <Part1of1.F0FB2AEC886D4281A2F8B5109B1A3596@1304531004.local>   | 220 0 <Part1of1.F0FB2AEC886D4281A2F8B5109B1A3596@1304531004.local>

(I changed the number string above slightly)

Dex found a download set of files that actually broke repair for each subsequent download until the item was deleted from the download list and then Newsbin restarted. He's looking at B2 which has a fix for this. Unless he finds additional problems it should be up fairly soon. Pretty minor change from B1.

Is that a fix for my issue?

I don't know. You can tell me if it is or not.
