Newsbin downloading all pars 680 rc4 and rc5

Postby JS_racer » Fri Mar 02, 2018 10:03 am

hello, i saw where rc4 680 fixed this, but for me on rc4 and rc5 newsbin downloads all pars first, before getting the first rar
this has been on several nzb

i saw the switch, do i need to toggle, exit, re enable options/settings/autopar/ pause pars
thanks for the time

The option isn't going to change files already in the download list. Restarting can't hurt.

Pausing pars ONLY works if the pars are grouped or the pars and rars are grouped together. If they're in the download list, one line per par, pausing isn't going to happen.

I don't know how you add downloads to the download list. Some people do this weird thing where they hit the + icon and add them as individual files. That won't allow the pars to pause.

nzb always for loading, i never load headers and add that way. download zip, toss in the watched nzb folder. (have used this method for feels like forever, years and years ?? :) )
rars and pars grouped together,

not sure what version this changed with, it use to work good, what was the version that defaulted to opening a tab other than downloading files, it was 3 versions ago ?? that one worked good too for me for pars. (B13)

Usenet has changed.

The comment I made before still applies. If the NZB's don't group, you won't get pausing. You could pause Newsbin, add the NZB's and then look at Newsbin to see if the PARS are paused or not and whether the files are grouped or not. You'd look in the download list.

went back to b10, same nzb doesn't d/l all pars first.
b13 seems good too, i don't have other other B 680 to try.

How about sending an example NZB file to ts at newsbin dot com and let us take a look?

great ideal, just loaded one this morning, and it was good. do i reinstalled rc5, and reloaded the nzb in the auto folder, and that was good.
i did toggle the pars option after the rc5 reload.

I'll keep an eye on it, and post back if i continue to have issues.
thanks again for the time, and for such a great program.

im kind of a boring user, d/l the nzb to my autoload folder, fireup newsbin, exit when completed. has worked like magic for tons of years, 10+
