Color Definitions in Options

Postby magician1962 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 5:06 am

Menu Options Submenu Options - (Think that should change as its not really intuitive Maybe one of them should be Settings or Preferences)

Colors/Fonts

Set Colour for Failed Posts Red
Set Colour for Downloading Posts Orange
Set colour for Downloaded Posts Green

As soon as I start downloading the selected item turnes Green . What happened to Orange ? The Implication is that it is complete :)

I've been trying to change the grey backgrounds in the panes but can only do it in the Posts pane and then only on the list names and not the whole pane background.

I would like an option to change the background colour to white if possible.

i think the downloading colour gets ignore now due to it being a compacted set and more than 200 chunks

In the NBI file

[COLORS]
UseBackgroundColor=0

I'd use wordpad and you might need to add both the section and the value. I'd search for [COLORS] before adding a new one.

Cheers Quade that looks far better to my old eyes.

Are there any other [COLORS] options or options for fonts in the NBI?

That was a special one because not all the alpha testers like my gray background. It might make it into real options depending on how many people dislike the gray.

Most of the other font stuff is in the registry.

Hi, just getting started in v6 (6.0b15: 00 C0 BC A7 1D A8 ) and i'd like to change background colour- hmm UK spelling :) :)- to WHITE. I see Quade's editing tip for the NBi file, but where please is the NBi file located? Can't find it in Program files, or am I just being naive?

I am in process of transferring a truckload of headers from v5, so I have plenty to keep me occupied :D

I have tried doing it through Options, colours seem to apply to text only. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks for great app!

Do a "File/ Save as" and it'll show you where the NBI file is. You might not want to complete the "Save As". Just find the NBI then cancel the rest.

Thanks v.much Quade. Found it, opened with Wordpad, now problem is how I edit nbi file. The only references I can find to 'colors' is the word in the plural where - I think - it is defining the color ID's of my servers.

Should I alter the NBI to incorporate the expression -
[COLORS]
UseBackgroundColor=0

??

..and if so, where in the text, please? Sorry to be so excruciatingly basic, but I am complete numbskull on how these expressions 'work' and how the app. will respond to what it might see as a corrupt NBI.

The server colours are defining with 'Color'. If you can't find anything with 'Colors', that's correct, that would be what you'd add, as you've written it there. As far as where, I think the nbi file is a bit 'free form' - the sections are broken out with the [] set, so just don't stick it in the middle of another section. A section appears to be defined with a [], some lines, then an empty line, repeat. In mine, for example, it's the entry before [CONNECTIONS]. Always back up your nbi first.

Thanks v much DT/Quade, I just can't seem to get it right, and "think" (which accounts for burning smell, then) that I am going to have wait for final version.

Want to say I am mightily impressed by app. development thus far compared to V5. Thank you to all involved.
