failed downloads

Postby cosmo4u » Sat Nov 26, 2011 10:05 am

i started this on another thread but after not getting it fixed using their solution, I figured I should start my own.

im running 6.20rc1 b1494

files seem to be hanging in the Download column and says failed needs more files, yet when I run the .par files I get the repair not needed. This seems to only be happening on .rar files

even as the files are being downloaded I get a failed/need more pars notice in the status section.
I did try to use the europe server as a fill, but like I stated before the files dont seem to be corrupt as when I self unrar them they come out fine.

thanks for any help

Is this 32 bit windows? I'm wondering if this is related to the filemap issue and running out of address space.

You should upgrade to RC3 at least. I'm puzzled by your problem to be honest.

upgraded..

i could send you a few screen shots, but it would only give you a visual to what i have posted previously. like i said this just started maybe 2 updates ago. was working fine after getting into 6.0 but then recently wont unrar or complete files. jpegs and the like are fine.

Might be time to wipe some DB3 files and start over. My downloads are just working. I'd exit Newsbin, then wipe the downloads.db3 and autopar2.db3. I don't think you have to wipe the other ones.

Same thing although this should be posted on Ver5, I get a lot of so called bad posts and the par takes 2 seconds to fix so it must be in the header info I think.
Also with small programs as long asx I clear the failed files list the same files seem OK.

I suspect this is a case where the filename in the yenc header is different to the filename in the par2 files (and possibly the subjext), but that the actual file content is OK. That would explain why it is so quick to fix.
