Filter state not remembered

Using 6.1 (beautiful!).

I have some filters set up (min download size 500meg) but when I restart newsbin I have to re-enable it. Previously it remembered it on restart.
I've searched the groups, I've gone through the help so I'm sure I must have missed something obvious because I can't see any other references to this and I'm sure there would be if it has changed as I'm seeing.

Could someone point me in the right direction please?

If you right click on an entry in the group list and select properties, you can set a default filter to apply to that one when it's loaded. Is that what you want? I believe filters always used to reset between loads.

I don't actually use groups view - I just use the search normally. However, it looks like I can go into my groups and set the default filter - that should achieve what I'm looking for. Not elegant but I'd only need to do it once I guess.
