The subject filtering isnt skipping the files ive set for filtering. specifically, txt.

Can the file filtering be made so it won't disconnect, like how the subject filtering behaves?

No, wish I could.

The problem is, the real filename's in the body of the post. Once you start a body downloading, there's no way to stop the download other then disconnecting.

I'd think you'd be better off troubleshooting why the subject filter isn't working for you. You might want to experiment with the size filters too.

So, your asking for it to ride through the data like the new signature cache then toss it away?

I was reluctant to do that because people really freak out when they see filtered filenames download even though they never hit the disk. That and the 95% of the people that want it to kill off the connection immediately.

Essentially what I need is a new tab in the settings for setting this weird stuff as well are more per server settings for handling server specific stuff.

1) Disconnect/not on Signature Match
2) Disconnect/not on Filename Match
3) Disconnect/not when switching servers on multiparts.
4) Wait till a server becomes free then contine a download.
5) Switch Servers/Not if part is available in higher priority server

What else?

6) Need some way to group newsfeeds so it only uses one server at a time but, may use up to 3 connections to the same server.

7) Need to be able to download chunks out of order so, if one server's busy, I can skip a couple chunks to one I can download now. Then go back and download the ones I missed earlier. That way, posts might not get sent to the bottom of the download list when I'm out of connections.

I've already started a new development tree for post 4.0 versions. I guess I'll start there. What do you think? A 4.1 beta before 4.0 goes gold? I don't think so. Maybe a private 4.1 soon after 4.0 goes gold.

It's going to get fricken complicated.
