Help with Expressions

I'm using profile filters to manage one very large NG.

What I would like to do is reject every post apart from any post that contains the word 'under' in the subject line?

Could anyone advise how I can do this?

type "under" without quotes into your filter text bar. Then click FIND in the event that NB doesn't filter on keypress.

Doesn't that simply allow me to find files with my chosen name.

I'm running this NG in Auotmatic mode. So i want to be able to set it a nd forget it!

So need to be able to enter the right info in the filters and then go to work and come home to find my files!

Hmm, my skills with NBPro don't include that automation ability ;) AFAIK, your best bet would be to fire the NBZ files into NB so that it downloads off that list..

Maybe if you checkmark the option in program options to "automagically download all posts" and (maybe not) if the filter has been run it'll only download the ones that pass the filter. I don't know of any command line options to specify which groups or how to put something into the filter textbox on load.. unless you modified your "DEFAULT" filter to have those specs..

:\ any NBPro experts out there with an idea?

Create a blank filter, and add "under" without the quotes into the "Accept Subject" list.

That's it - nothing else in any other field??

Well, if you want it to do any other things that apply to those fields, then sure, but for what you asked, I don't see any need.

I'm still not getting the desired results i'm after :(

I've opened the profile for the NG and have un-ticked the main box at the top for Reject Subject Filter.

I've then put a tick in the box at the top of Accept Subject Filter and then added the word under in the 'Subject Filters' Tab.

I have nothing under the other tabs - but Newsbin doesn't download anything!

I must be doing something wrong

PS. I know there are files and subject with the word 'under' in this NG - litterally hundreds!

Any futher ideas guys?

Turn off the subject filters and test your filter in the find box on the main window. Once you know you have a keyword that filters in what you want, you can update the filter profile. Make sure the filter profile is set for that group so it will get used whenever you download headers for that group.
