what's a good program to use to par and unrar a directory automatically?

right now i am using pic-n-rar via "wine" but is there anything on the linux side that does the same thing?

There's parchive, but me personally, I use par2. Simple, fast, gets the job done. Haven't had a problem with it yet.

I'm not aware of anything on Linux that natively will auto-magically unrar afterwards, though, if that's what you mean. I just run par2, it will do what needs doing, then unrar. If you really needed something like that, it would be reasonably trivial to script it. I'd google around, though, first.

If it helps, then the AutoRAR feature of Newsbin works fine with Quickpar and Winrar installed on wine.

I use the built in AutoRAR feature of Newsbin and QuickPar (running under Wine too) for repairs.
